Cityscapes Update Log 1.0.1 — Pre-Undergrowth
This update fixes some mistakes made during production of the game as well as changes some abilities to make them more in-line with their thematics as well as update certain overpowered or underpowered abilities in preparation for the coming Undergrowth supplement.
Changelog
Changed the cover image and screenshots.
Many minor revisions to the text such as font size, spacing and italicization.
Tale of Destiny
Replaced For My Friends with Shielded From Fate. The former ability did not find much use during playtesting during the already uncommon event of using a Connection for a mechanical bonus.
Renamed But I Refuse to Inviticus. The previous title lacked coherence with the Tale’s thematics.
Replaced Fake Out with The Path Forward. The prior ability was underpowered in scope and did not accrue enough mechanical value to have consistent benefits.
Tale of Metamorphosis
Renamed Twisted Sinew to Hardened Skin. Same as the case above with Inviticus.
Replaced Black Blood with Foreign Resistance. Clarified the text and added the ability to allow for purging of poison from the body.
Path Of The Ordinary
Changed Heart of Gold's ability to not be similar to the Triamond's noble grace. This one was my bad.
Path Of The Forlorn
Replaced Pickpocket with Walled Off. The former ability was needlessly complex and interacted in combat in unintended ways.
Replaced Under by Skin with Danger Sense. Same as the case above with Inviticus.
Lore of Fire
Shroud of Flames: Decreased the number of Hits taken to only 1 Hit and specified only melee attacks would be applicable for this ability.
Ashes to Ashes: Changed the demerit for failing the test. Towers were too punishing of a demerit when players did not know when the last trait test would be for the session.
Lore of Water
Phase Morph: Clarified the extent of the ability.
Noble Houses
Marinell: Changed the ability to allow for Marinell fae to gain connections after leaving Faerie.
Sanglier: Changed the ability to now require 3 Marks to change the suit of your attack mid-combat. This ability in particular may be changed completely in a future combat supplement.
Commoner Roles
Replaced Artisan with Spy. This was due to the similarity with the already fae-locked Tale of Artistry’s Treasuresmith ability and to allow other, non-fae to be able to craft treasures.
Combat Styles
Reaper’s Riot
Rend: Replaced Feint with Pressure, and the following Knockdown effect with Feint.
Reap: Replaced Disable(Wands) with Knockdown.
Ravish: Clarified that it is a finisher. Changed the secondary effect to adhere to the thematics of the fighting style.
Shields
Stern Advance: Changed the ability to reflect the fighting style’s thematics.
Parry: Added Disarm to the technique, but decreased the number of Hits by 1.
Whips
Overhead Smack: Removed Disable(Pentacles) from the technique.
Target Eye: Replaced Disable(Wands) with Disable(Pentacles).
Crossbows
Disarming Shot: Removed Disable(Cups) from the technique.
Headshot: Subtracted 1 Hit from the technique but added Feint.
Krav Maga
Flurry Of Strikes: Removed Disarm.
Target Groin: Removed Disable(Wands) to the ability. Clarified the extra-hit maneuver’s mechanics.
Perks
Deck of Cards: Changed the ability from Towering to merely failing the test.
